dunno.....since i'm a north indian so,i haven't seen Iruvar(ash's first movie,directed by mani ratnam)....though i've seen her in Aur Pyar Ho Gaya(Ash's first Bollywood movie)and i've to admit that though she looked good but,her acting was really terrible!

she was merely talked abt in IRUVAR as Mohan Lal n prakash raj kept evry1 spellbound by thr class actin...

man ,one scene in which mohan lal waves 2 crowd from terrace s enuf 2 prove wat Mani Ratnam is ALL ABT n not 2 4get A.R's powerful BGmusic n santosh sivan's golden(old kind f) hue rich cinematography in few scenes n ' vennila vennila ' n other songs f d movie ...

i think since Mohan lal was not so famous in TN ,d movie went on2 bcum a FLOP ,if Kamal did d character f Mohanlal it wud not hav been atleast a FLOP .

but then i feel mohan lal whose face n body evrythin was fat luked almost similar to MGR when he wore those sunglasses,n he being sum1 who s widely cosidered as 1 f best natural actors who has done many 'man next door' / 'down 2 earth ' roles(in malayalam movies) ,was mani's easiest choice which i think was very much apt for d movie .
